Food photography for restaurants and cafés in Skopje
Food photography is the one kind of photography where the viewer has to get hungry.
That is a different job from making a dish look tidy. It is about light that shows texture, a crop that puts the good part first, and colours that stay true to the plate. A burger photographed flat and grey is still a burger, and nobody orders it.
I shoot in natural light and warm tones, because that is how food looks when it is put down in front of you.
What you get
- Edited photos, not a folder of raw shots to sort through.
- One consistent look across every dish, so your feed and your menu read as one place.
- The angle that suits each dish: from above, from the side, or close up.
- Files ready for Instagram, your website, delivery apps and print.
What makes a food photo work
Light comes first
Window light is soft and it comes from one side, which is what gives food depth. Overhead restaurant lighting flattens a plate and turns everything yellow. That is why I shoot during the day and ask for a table near a window.
The dish is photographed the way you serve it
Your kitchen plates it as it goes out to a guest. A photo that promises more than the plate delivers is a complaint waiting to happen, so I photograph what your customers will actually get, at its best.
Small things around the plate
A napkin, a fork, a hand reaching for a glass, your own tableware. They tell the viewer what kind of place this is before they read a word.

Frequently asked questions
What is food photography?
Photography of dishes and drinks made to be used commercially: in a menu, on social media, in a delivery app, on a website. The goal is a photo that shows the dish honestly and makes someone want to order it.
Do you shoot at my restaurant or in a studio?
At your place. The food is freshest a few steps from your kitchen, and your own tables, plates and light are part of what makes the photos recognisably yours.
Do you photograph drinks as well?
Yes. Coffee, cocktails, lemonades and anything else on your bar menu. Drinks and food can be combined in the same package.
How many photos do I need?
For a few signature items, 10 photos are enough. For regular posting, 20 photos cover about a month. For the whole menu, count the dishes you want shown: the Menu package has 40 photos.
