CHARMING LJUBLJANA AND BLED – SLOVENIA
A small but charming and endearing city like Ljubljana will do nothing else but take you into its romantic embrace and guide you through its air filled with love and serenity. You will never wish to escape it until you absorb all the peace it offers.
Explore this picturesque city and let your eyes be transfixed by the alluring details that will paint your soul with joyful colours.

Ljubljana is perfect to visit in June, as the ideal climate will welcome you. The sun shines brightly throughout the day but will not stop you from passionately exploring its alleys. The nights are pleasant, with a gentle breeze caressing your face. That being the case, you can pack various clothes, from light coats to summer dresses, as the climate does not reach extremes.

When it comes to accommodation, you can without a doubt book at Hotel Meksiko, as your stay will be more than enjoyable. Everything is modern, clean, and in top form.

Walking beside the Ljubljanica River, you will come to one of the main squares in Ljubljana—Prešeren Square. It leads towards the Triple Bridge (Tromostovje), the most famous landmark in Ljubljana. It consists of three bridges merged into one, which makes it absolutely extraordinary. It was designed by Italian and Slovenian architects. The square and the bridge are full of people, and nearby there are many elegant restaurants where you can try various dishes.
Speaking of food, the restaurant we liked the most is called Fany & Mary. Located by the riverbank, it offers a lovely atmosphere with boats floating on the river, fresh air, and delicious food.

If you want to try fancy and sweet dishes, Wonderland Ljubljana is the perfect place for that mood. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with unique materials and colours that make you feel like you are in a magical sweet world.

Another charming square is Mestni Square, which is no less beautiful. Designed in Baroque style and located in the old town, it is perfect for admiring the architecture while enjoying Ljubljana coffee.

From there, you can continue to Old Square (Stari trg), Upper Square (Gornji trg), Congress Square (Kongresni trg), and Republic Square (Trg republike). All of these squares preserve their historical charm with Renaissance and Baroque architecture.

What is interesting about Ljubljana is that you can explore everything on foot—you do not need a car, as the city is small and easily accessible.
Nearby, you can visit cultural buildings such as the University, the Philharmonic Hall, the Parliament, and various galleries.
If you want to see Ljubljana from above, go to Ljubljana Castle. The castle dates back to the 11th century and has been reconstructed over time, now combining Renaissance, Baroque, and Gothic styles. It was originally built to protect against the Ottomans and is now a popular tourist attraction. It hosts cultural events, exhibitions, and the Museum of Slovenian History.

Another breathtaking view of green Ljubljana can be enjoyed from Nebotičnik Skyscraper. Head to the rooftop, order a vanilla coffee, and admire the stunning view.

More greenery can be seen in Tivoli Park. One interesting thing about Ljubljana is that there are almost no cars in the centre, and even the few that exist are mostly electric. Because of this, both the city centre and Tivoli Park are very peaceful.

Another picturesque part of Slovenia is the town of Bled with Lake Bled. Located in the Julian Alps, this place offers an idyllic view that will delight your eyes. There is a small island in the middle of the lake. For a panoramic view, head to Bled Castle and enjoy the deep blue colours of the lake.

Bled Castle is one of the oldest castles in Slovenia, located on a cliff. It is not always easy to reach Bled, especially on weekends. To avoid difficulties with public transport, I recommend renting a car. That way, you will arrive in less than an hour and can also visit nearby attractions such as Vintgar Gorge.

When in Bled, you must try the famous cream cake, the most well-known dessert of the region.

Slovenia is beautiful, green, and perfectly clean. If you long for a peaceful vacation without noise and crowds, with perfect climate, safety, and stunning nature, then your choice cannot be better.
See you in my upcoming blogs…
Bye for now.
